Three contenders for nomination as the Most Beautiful Czech Books for 2019

The Museum of Czech Literature (PNP) and the Czech Ministry of Culture have announced the nominations for the best book design awards in the Most Beautiful Czech Books 2019 competition.

Out of the record number of 313 publications entered this year, the international artistic and technical committee have selected nominations in seven categories.

Two Host titles have been nominated for the fiction section: Jan Němec's Možnosti milostného románu / Ways of Writing about Love (with its cover and graphic design by Martin T. Pecina) and Jiří Hájíček's poetry collection Muž na pokraji vzplanutí / A Man on the Point of Ignition (with graphic design and typography by Lucie Zajíčková-Kaňová and illustrations by Matěj Lipavský). The third nominated Host title (which is also a book by one of our agency's authors) is Petra Soukupová's Klub divných dětí / Weird Kids' Club, competing in the Literature for Children and Young Adults category. This book was illustrated by Nikola Logosová, while the man behind the cover, the graphic design and the typography is again Martin T. Pecina.

The competition results announcement ceremony will take place 23 April.
