The student jurors in the 11th annual Czech Book competition have shortlisted six titles out of the most interesting domestic fiction published last year.
These include Patrik Banga's book The Real Way Out / Skutečná cesta ven, which has already won a Magnesia litera prize.
For the sixth time, the jury is made up of secondary-level students, who give this award its unique character among Czech literary awards. Just like last year, this year's Czech Book jurors have been recruited from among grammar school students in three Bohemian and Moravian cities: Prague, České Budějovice and Olomouc.
The ceremonial Czech Book announcement will take place on Wednesday, 10th May from 5 p.m. in the Mayor's Lounge at the Municipal Library in Prague.
