This year’s winner is Petra Klabouchová and translator Barbora Faure. They won the prize for the book By the North Wall / U severní zdi, published in France under the title Près du mur nord by Agullo Editions.
The five nominees include Petra Soukupová and translator Aude Pasquier for Who Killed Snowy? / Kdo zabil Snížka?, a book published by Editions La Joie de Lire under the title Qui a tué mon chien?
Also noteworthy is last year’s inaugural edition of the award, which went to another of our agency’s authors, Pavel Čech, with his graphic novel The Great Adventures of Pepík Střecha / Velké dobrodružství Pepíka Střechy, translated by Jean-Gaspard Páleníček. This book was published by L'Oeuf under the title of La grande aventure de Pepik.
The Literary Prize of the Francophone Embassies in Prague (Le Prix Littéraire des Ambassades Francophones de Prague - PLAF) was established in the autumn of 2024. This annual prize is awarded to authors and translators of Czech works that have been translated and published in French in the previous year, and is organized in cooperation with the Czech Literary Centre and the Alliance française de Brno.
