Kateřina Illnerová likes to draw stories about very ordinary things, such as porcelain plates, mailboxes, shelves full of books, teapots and cats. A graduate of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, she came to public attention in 2022 on winning the prestigious international Silent Book Contest. Her inspirations include Jean-Jacques Sempé, Shaun Tan and Ivan Wernisch.
